Watch Out for These Common Tankless Water Heater Troubles

A tankless water heater is an excellent, energy saving alternative to the traditional storage tank water heater. And when well-maintained, it has the capacity to last for many, many years. However, no matter how well you take care of your system, it may run into a problem at some time or another. Fortunately, you have our team to handle any Aurora, CO tankless water heater repair needs that may come your way. In the meantime, we’ve offered an overview below of what could be troubling your system.

Lack of Hot Water

Given that this is the water heater’s function, to produce hot water, this is a very frustrating problem. This can be caused by a tripped circuit breaker, or an issue with your water or gas supply. Be sure to check your shut-off valves in addition to checking your electrical panel. The valves may be in a closed position.

You’ll also want to ensure that you don’t have frozen pipes preventing hot water from making its way through. If you are getting hot water intermittently, then you may be dealing with a damaged flow sensor or your tankless system may not have been installed correctly to begin with.

The Water is Too Hot

Of course, your problem could be the exact opposite—perhaps your water is too hot. Check to make sure the temperature isn’t set too high. If not, then the problem might be a broken temperature sensor, or perhaps the sensor is not adequately positioned.

Low Water Pressure

This problem might not be yours at all—it could be that the water pressure from your municipal water supply has an issue. If this is not the case, then you may be dealing with obstructions in your plumbing system.
